Jericho Town Library
Built around 1825
Now owned by
the Jericho Congregational Church
This building began its life
being built by the community as a meeting place for the Baptist and
Congregational Churches. In 1828 the building became the Jericho Academy, or
high school. It stayed the Academy until 1845, when it closed and other private
schools inhabited the building. In 1892, the town deeded the building to the
First Congregational Church for one dollar. From 1896 to 1905 the building
served as the offices of the Congregational Church and the upstairs was used for
the high school until its building was constucted. In 1909 the Church allowed
the building to be used as the town library as is still being done today.

Pliny Blackman's Store (Jericho Center)
Built around 1800
Now owned by Karen & Steve Perry
The original building was
used as a general store and post office. The present building was built in 1900
by the Jordan brothers. The store's local goods, such as grain and wool, went as
far as Montreal with people doing trading and bartering for the goods. Today the
building is still a store. Known for may years as "Desso's", the Jericho Center
Market, is still being used for its original purpose, selling general
merchandise.
