Brick Store (Underhill Flats)
Built around 1860
Now
owned by Randy Clark, Sr.
This building has almost always
contained some sort of store or business. It has been a law office owned by A.C.
Dixon, a shoe shop owned by William Well, a beauty salon, apartments and until
1999, a bakery. One general store which used the building was the store of
George Terrill. At the same time the post office and the telephone exchange were
housed there. A second general store in the building was owned by the Kirby
Brothers, who owned the building for twenty-two years.
