Joseph Brown, Jr. House (Jericho)
Built around 1788
Now owned by Stuart and Emilie Alexander
This rambling
farmhouse is considered to be the oldest building in the Underhill-Jericho area.
It was built by Joseph Brown, Jr. whose family was the original settlers of this
area. The house has remained in the Brown family until 1971 when it was sold to
its present owner. The house is best known as being an excellent example of what
is known as "continuous architecture," in which all out buildings are connected
to the main house. This would allow the owners to travel to all buildings even
when they are snowed in. Today the Brown House has lost two of its four barns,
but it still contins a large stone fireplace complete with bread baking oven.

Jericho Methodist Church (Jericho Corners)
Built around 1858
by the Methodist Meeting House Society
Still owned by the Jericho
Methodist Church
This building has always been used as a church
and in 1953, it also doubled as a school for a single grade. In 1957 the church
was renovated, during which one of the wings of pews was removed. There are two
entrances to the main sanctuary which were originally built so that men and
women could enter and sit separately.
